DST India Unit Recognized for Best Practices
Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, Tuesday, August 27, 2013 — (Business Wire India) — Company Joins Elite List with Successful CMMI Services Assessment
DST Worldwide Services (DSTWS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of DST Systems Inc., today announced that its India operation has been successfully appraised for Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 (Services) version 1.3.
CMMI is a well-known best-practices model used to assess an organization’s maturity across its project management, process management, and support activities.
With active assessments of CMMI (DEV) L3 V 1.3, CMMI (SVC) L3 V 1.3, and PCMM L3 V 2.0, DSTWS India joins a select few companies in the world with similar credentials.
“This appraisal should benefit for our customers in terms of enhanced service levels, reduction of cost, and time to market,” said Tilakraj Panjabi, the India Country Head, “These assessments clearly demonstrate our commitment towards quality and productivity improvements.”
The Standard CMMI Appraisal for Process Improvement assessment was conducted by an authorized appraiser from Quality Assurance Institute, India. The appraisal covered DST India’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) unit along with service-related areas in information technology at DST’s Hyderabad location.
“Our operation demonstrates a high standard of service excellence through compliance to frameworks such as ISO 9001: 2008, ISO27001:2005, CMMI, PCMM, HIPAA, and SSAE16,” said Shajahan Sheik, General Manager, Quality and Information Security, DSTWS India. “The credentials we’ve earned greatly enable us to continually improve quality, productivity, and predictability.”
Considered to be one of the most widely accepted and adopted process improvement approaches by software developers worldwide, the CMMI model was developed by the Software Engineering Institute, USA, (SEI) in association with Carnegie Mellon University.
Based in Hyderabad, India, DST Worldwide Services India Private Limited has been offering information technology, business process outsourcing, and consulting services since 2008.
