Mobile Conversations all set for New Delhi on June 24
New Delhi, Delhi, India, Thursday, June 23, 2011 — (Business Wire India) — Mobile Conversations over the years have become a much awaited annual conference exploring mobile marketing and its growing prospects in India, which is the second largest market for mobile telephony in the world.
The mobile marketing conference by afaqs! is titled ‘Mobile Conversations – No Mobile, No Marketing’ this time to reiterate the growing clout of the mobile handset as a potent medium of reaching out to the customer.
This is the third edition of the conference being held in New Delhi. It was first organised in the capital in 2008 followed by another successful run in 2010.
The conference will have three panel discussions on topics like marketers evolving and leveraging the new mobile ecosystem, the 3G effect and the importance of differentiation in mobile and online advertising. A case study on location-based advertising and a research paper on integration of mobile applications into a digital strategy will be presented during the seminar.
The keynote address on Mobile 2.0: Defining the new mobile ecosystem will be delivered by Mahesh Narayanan, country manager, business development (mobile), Google India. The address will outline the strides mobile marketing has made, with a special focus on the speaker’s prognosis for getting it right.
The first panel discussion will explore if marketers will evolve and leverage the new mobile ecosystem? In the last last 12-15 months, the mobile ecosystem has evolved. Telecom operators have started focusing on ‘data’ part from ‘voice’. Large number of affordable handsets (feature and smart phones) and new mobile devices (tablet computers) have emerged. Newer formats of content consumption (applications) are gaining traction. Mobile internet consumption has increased significantly. This discussion will find out how marketers are evolving beyond basic mobile marketing and leveraging the new mobile ecosystem to their advantage and how can they do it? The speakers for the panel discussion include Mohit Gupta, chief marketing officer, makemytrip.com; Shubhodip Pal, country manager – India, Blyk; Vinod Thadani, regional mobile director – India and South Asia, GroupM; Delynn Ho, vice president – sales, BuzzCity. Subhomoy Sengupta, digital consultant to Coca Cola would be moderating the session.
Next in the day’s schedule is a case study presentation on location based advertising using mobile devices by Saurabh Singh, head, advertising sales India, Navteq Media Solutions.
Followed by the case study presentation is a panel discussion on the 3G effect. The discussion will explore if 3G is over hyped, will a large chunk of consumers subscribe to the facility and how have the rules of mobile consumption changed since 3G has come to India? Speakers representing various stakeholders will participate in the discussion. The concluding session of the day will be a panel discussion on how important it is to differentiate mobile advertising from online advertising? The panel of speakers for this session will include Sandeep Amar, head – marketing, audience and sales strategy, Times Internet Limited; Sankalp Mehrotra, regional director (South Asia), business development, Affle; P R Satheesh, president, TELiBrahma and Naren Nachiappan, managing director, Jivox India.
