Grand Prize of a Trip to ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa: A National School Level Competition to Hunt for India’s Young Spelling Genius

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Monday, July 06, 2009 — (Business Wire India) — Asia’s leading Sports Broadcaster, ESPN STAR Sports, today announced the launch of Spelling Champs 2009 – a national school level competition to find a young spelling genius in the age group of 11 to 14 years. The inaugural edition will see young wizards, handpicked by some of the best schools, engage in clash of words. The 7 episode series starts from July 08, 2009 only on ESPN. Catch the show every Wednesday at 7:00 pm.

Rajat Kapoor, the famous television personality, is the host pronouncer of the show. The show has a panel of Word Commissioners, noted novelist Rana Dasgupta and English Language Experts from British Council who gave invaluable inputs to the ever inquiring contestants. The format of the show entails 8 gruelling challenges in a countdown where only one will survive to be crowned the Spelling Champ 2009.
